Jesus Olympics a Hit!
The city of Beaver Dam had a special event like no other on the first weekend of summer 2003 - The New Life Pentecostal Church of Beaver Dam hosted the Jesus Olympics at Swan Park in Beaver Dam to ring in the warm weather.

Dozens of children were on hand to try their skill in events such as the old summer classic, the sack race, as well as several different types of races, including egg racing. Other featured events were the coloring contest, 20-yard dash, 50-yard dash, basketball, and everybody's favorite, the balloon toss.

Andy Cone entertained all with his fun sing-along songs, and really set a festive mood. Everyone, adults included, found themselves singing along, and acting out songs with hand "signals", for lack of a better term. It was truly a fun time, and it seemed, as always, to end too soon.

Organizer Chris Behymers told a wonderful, inspiring, easy-to-understand rendition of the story of the salvation of Jesus, followed by a fun Bible quiz.

The tired, but happy contestants were all treated to a prize pack, food and refreshments, and olympic medals for their performance - everybody really was a winner at the Jesus Olympics!

To cap off the day, two scooters were given away in an exciting raffle. Talk about Holy rollers!
